Lafon G. Warren

August 25, 1933 — September 9, 2015

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Afton LaFon Gilson Warren, age 82, of Richfield, died September 9, 2015 at her home in Richfield. She was born August 25, 1933 in Bear River City, Utah, a daughter of Vervin Raymond and Mary Afton Heiner Guild Gilson. She married Weston Melvin Warren, June 13, 1949 in Craig, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple April 18, 1950. He died July 8, 2003. LaFon was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in multiple callings, including Manti Temple Ordinance Worker. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, making homemade candy, but most of all fussing and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be missed. LaFon is survived by her children: Kenneth and Nancy Warren of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Judy and Harry Robinson of Bountiful; Christine W. Wallender of Hobbs, New Mexico; Karen Armstrong of Glendale, Arizona; Michael Ray Warren of Richfield; Sandra Kay and Raymond Tuttle of Nampa, Idaho; Nadine and Lamar Kunzler of Hinckley; Valerie Jones of Mt. Pleasant; 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; a brother: V.R. Gilson of Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brothers: Nello Vervin Gilson and Raymond William Gilson; half-sister: Nellie Priscilla Johnson; sister: Verna LaRue Gilson; two sons-in-law: Paul Wallender and Louis B. "Sonny" Armstrong; and a granddaughter, Kamille Kunzler. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Richfield 15th LDS Ward Chapel, 10 South 200 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel, Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
