Lance W. Young

Gunnison, Utah - Our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, grandson and dear friend, Lance W. Young, age 25, passed from this life on Friday, June 25, 2010 in Tooele, Utah. Lance was born January 30, 1985 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Dan Ray and Stephanie Wood Young. During the quarter century in which he lived, Lance lived life to the very fullest. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 2003, where he was a great wrestler, a 2 time region champion. People often commented that he was very fun to watch wrestle, because of his quickness, strength and his natural talent for the sport. He had an adept talent in sports and often excelled at anything he decided to play, whether it be wrestling, baseball or basketball. Lance loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his father and his brothers and sister. He was very excited to be able to draw out for a Mountain Goat, and was even more excited to get a trophy goat on the mountains above Provo. The memories he made with his parents, brothers and sister will be forever cherished. Family was very important to Lance. He lived for moments spent together as a family, whether it be hunting, fishing, Sunday dinners, Christmas parties, or just hanging out in the back yard. He will be missed more than words can ever express. Lance is survived by his parents, Dan and Stephanie Young of Gunnison; his brothers: Jared and Holly Young of Highland; Tyler Young of Orem; Clint Young of Gunnison; and his sister: Crystal and Denny Frost of Provo; his nieces: Kalee and Kassidy Young, Breanna Frost; along with his nephew Jared Hunter Young; his grandparents: Marion and Beverly Young of Gunnison; Virgil Andersen of Salina. He is also survived by his best pal and favorite dog and pet, Sadie. He is preceded in death by his dear grandmother, Eva King Andersen of Salina. Lance will forever hold a special place in our hearts, but he has been set free with no more pain. May you rest in peace until we see you again. We love you, Lance, and know that one day, we will see you and be together forever. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery in Mayfield, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
