Bicknell, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Lane R. Ellett, age 84, died June 11, 2015 in Loa, Utah, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Lane was born July 28, 1930 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of Joseph Alonzo and LaVerda Marie Rasmussen Ellett. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1948. He married his sweetheart, Mary Anita "Peggy" Jones, July 23, 1950 in Bicknell, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, July 2, 1953. Lane was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Ward Clerk and Home Teacher. He served on the Bicknell Town Board and as a Bicknell Volunteer Fireman. Lane enjoyed hunting, fishing, logging and farming. He was a bus driver for the Wayne School District for over 30 years. Lane is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, of Bicknell; his children: Trudy and Lon Christensen of South Jordan; Stephen and Maria Ellett of Bicknell; Jan and Mary Ellett of Loa; Michael and Marisol Ellett of Plano, Texas; Scott and Heather Ellett of Salina; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Roma Taylor of Bicknell; Maurine and Bob Winters of Zillah, Washington; Janett and Doug Morrell of Central Valley; Gary (deceased) and Cindy Ellett, and Rodney Ellett, all of Bicknell; Catherine and Dwight Mielke of Loa; step-siblings: Ardis and Norman Christensen of Escalante; Val Gene and Sharla Chappell of Richfield; Don and Marsha Chappell of Loa. He was preceded in death by step-brothers: Keith and Faun Chappell; and George Afton Chappell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
