Larae N. Allen

Sigurd, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, LaRae Nielson Allen, age 83 of Sigurd, passed peacefully away on March 23, 2016 in Richfield. She was born April 26, 1932 in Junction, Utah, a daughter of Raymond and Etta Bay Nielson. She married Vilo James Allen, October 14, 1952 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. LaRae was an active member of the LDS Church and in her younger years, she served as Sunday School Co-ordinator. Her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed spoiling the grandkids and they were her greatest joy. As a homemaker, she loved to cook and clean, a rarity among most, but LaRae truly enjoyed cooking and then cleaning up afterwards. She is survived by her loving husband, Vilo; children: James Mont Allen, Floyd Vilo Allen, Julie Faye Wilson and Melanie Dawn Washburn, all of Sigurd; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Cloene Stockman of Idaho. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Johnston; a granddaughter: Sherry Ann Allen; her parents, Raymond and Etta Bay Nielson; and two brothers: LaZell Nielson and Karol Nielson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Sigurd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family Tuesday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
