Larry Bess

Scipio, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Larry Bess, age 73, died July 2, 2012 at his home in Scipio. He was born June 15, 1939 in Cedarview, Utah, a son of John Williams and Ramona Bacon Bess. He attended Murray High School in Murray, Utah. Larry married the love of his life, Connie Hepner, November 6, 1959 in Murray. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 25, 1968. Larry was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings. He was a licensed Master Plumber for 40 years working in the Salt Lake City area. He was an avid hunter, loved to go fishing, camping with his family, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his sweetheart, Connie Bess of Scipio; his children: Christi and Keith Garff of Centerfield; Debbi and Kerry Peterson of Riverton; Lauri and Todd Mathews, Dustin Larry Bess and his fiancee, Ann Newman, all of Scipio; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Richard and Vera Bess of Altamont; Michael and Lois Bess of Spiro, Oklahoma; John and Kathy Bess of South Jordan; Dave and Debbie Bess of Fairview. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ramona Bess and a brother, Robert Bess. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Scipio LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
