Larry Hansen

Sterling, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Larry Hansen, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Provo, Utah, surrounded by his loving family, after suffering a major heart attack. He was born November 11, 1954 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of George E. and Phyllis Mae Cowley Hansen. He graduated from Manti High School and attended Valley Tech and Snow College. He married the love of his life, Mary Louise Jensen, September 1, 1972 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Larry was a member of the LDS Church and served on the Sterling Town Council. He loved camping and fishing, working and restoring old cars and tractors. He like to travel and see new things. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tending his grandkids. He will be deeply missed. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hansen, of Sterling; his children: Heather and Steve Myers of Price; Mike and Ellen Hansen of Seattle, Washington; Heidi Ison of Sterling; Kristen Hansen of Centerfield; Casey and Athena Hansen of Manti; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Phyllis Hansen and a brother, Lon Hansen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Sterling LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
