Larue Rasmussen

September 12, 1919 — February 12, 2009

Loa, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, LaRue Fordham Rasmussen, age 89, died February 12, 2009 in Richfield, Utah. She was born September 12, 1919 in Murray, Utah, a daughter of Amos P. and Delia Taft Fordham. She attended Wayne High School in Bicknell. She married Jay Nad Rasmussen July 15, 1936 in Thistle, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 10, 1968. Nad died December 14, 2003. LaRue was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings. She and her husband, Nad, served a full time mission for the Church on the Island of Yap. She served in many civic callings, including Lions Club, Politics and Community Service. LaRue enjoyed crocheting, making clocks, collecting rocks and quilting. Many homes were graced with LaRue’s handiwork. She was always very generous with her time and talents. She is survived by her children: Nadine and Kit Taylor of Loa; Shirley and Larry Taylor of Taylorsville; Jay and Amy Rasmussen of San Diego, California; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, LaRayne Shedden; two sons-in-law: Earl F. Brown and Larry Shedden; two grandsons and six siblings: Blake Fordham, Ethel Busenbark, Paul T. Fordham, Richard Fordham, Seth Fordham and Max Fordham. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Tuesday morning from11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
