Laurel Caldwell

December 9, 1930 — July 21, 2010

Centerfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Laurel Clara Pingree Caldwell, age 80, died July 21, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born December 9, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Clair and Geneve Whitmore Pingree. She graduated from Jordan High School, Class of 1949. She married Richard Lee Caldwell, September 18, 1951 in Sandy, Utah. They were later divorced. Laurel was an active member of the LDS Church, working in the Primary and the MIA in her younger days. She enjoyed attending the Temple. She was a beautiful oil painter, and she enjoyed fishing, gardening and farming. She is survived by her children: Rochelle and Robert Valenzuela of West Valley City; Wendie and Taft Beio of Centerfield; Dawn Marie and Jay Nichols of Manti; Ardis Caldwell of Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Joellen Dillard of Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Pingree; and her ex-husband and father of her children: Richard Lee Caldwell. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 5:00 P.M. in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel, in Centerfield, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Saturday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:40 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
