Koosharem, Utah - On June 10, 2012, the precious daughter of Ervin LaRay and Evina Juventa Williams Christensen passed away in the Gunnison Valley Hospital, Gunnison, Utah. LaVee was born April 15, 1924 in Koosharem, and after 88 years of creating wonderful family memories, enduring challenging health issues, and refining creative talents, she has been reunited with her sweetheart Rufus Hatch who preceded her in death on February 27, 2006. They were married April 8, 1943 in the Manti LDS Temple in Manti Utah and have 5 children who honor, cherish, and appreciate her many sacrifices and service to them throughout their lives. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaVee lived her testimony through her service. She loved her neigbors and friends with whom she shared warm visits and gifts which brightened her day. Without an idle hour, she mixed her talents with her hobbies in meaningful activities. Passers by as well as all who knew her were recipients of her candy making, her bread, pies, and even her love of fishing. She loved riding in the mountains, raising Koosharem peas, canning fruit, working summers at the Fish Lake Lodge, and partying in the middle of her children. Over the last six years, after the loss of her companion, LaVee enjoyed her time in the homes of her children and felt the gratitude of her grand children’s love and service. LaVee is survived by her four daughters and one son: Linda (Ron) Haider, Evanston, Wy.; Jeanette (Robert)Andersen, Gunnison, Ut; Marcia (Bruce) Shaheen, St. George, Ut; Sheila (Voy) Matheson, Logandale, Nv.; Linden (Nancy) Hatch, Spring Creek, Nv.; her 30 beloved grandchildren and 59 great-grand children; sisters in law, Marie Potter, West Valley City Ut., and Faye Taylor, Salina Ut., as well as many nieces and nephews.
