Loa, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, LaVee Maxfield McKinlay, age 84, died December 24, 2009 at her home in Loa. She was born August 23, 1925 in Lyman, Utah, a daughter of Nathan Grant and Delta Okerlund Maxfield. She worked in Manti, packing parachutes and at the ASF Depot during World War II. LaVee married Lyle Kay McKinlay, September 29, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 4, 1948. Kay died April 21, 1976. LaVee worked as a seamstress at Lady Lovely Apparel and at National Semi-conductor in Salt Lake City. She worked hard supporting her family. LaVee was an active member of the LDS Church. She loved to bowl and her hobbies were her family. She was a wonderful caregiver for Mike and she will be deeply missed by us all. She is survived by her five sons: Ronald K. and Linda McKinlay of Twin Falls, Idaho; Russell and Paula McKinlay of Alpine; Michael McKinlay of Loa; Greogry A. and Debbie McKinlay of West Jordan; Steven Lyle and Mona McKinlay of Green River, Wyoming; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Ole Maxfield of Salt Lake City; Etta Nelson, LoRee and Clifford Olsen all of Loa; Ann Heaps of St. George. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Nathan Doyle Maxfield and Grant LaMar Maxfield; and a sister, Erma Chappell. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lyman Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
