Richfield, Utah - James LaVell Gleave, age 95, died April 8, 2016 in Richfield. He was born July 17, 1920 in Antimony, Utah, a son of Walter William and Jane Ann Ainsworth Gleave. He married Mary Thelma Lewis in 1939 in Richfield, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Maurine Peterson, July 20, 1950 in Richfield. They were later divorced. LaVell served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in a Bishopric, on the Stake High Council and as a Home Teacher. He enjoyed prospecting and gold mining. He loved spending time in the mountains and passed that on to his children. LaVell worked as a Building Contractor, building many homes and buildings in the Sevier County area. He will be greatly missed. LaVell is survived by his children: Kathleen Pouuson and Jane Barrett, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brenda Gleave of Logansport, Indiana; Colleen and Robert Jensen of Elsinore; Craig La Velle Gleave of Richfield; and Camille Gleave of Salt Lake City; step-daughters: Mary Ann and Thomas Smith of Cedar City and Nannette and James Carter of Joseph; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Charmaine Gleave; and three brothers: Vernile Gleave, Feldon Gleave, Deord Gleave, and a sister: Telma Jacoby. Private services and burial will take place in the Richfield City Cemetery at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
