Salt Lake City – Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, LaVon Brown Cotten, age 75, died on October 4, 2012 in Salt Lake City. LaVon was born January 22, 1937 in Richfield to William Lee Brown, and Esther Margaret Anderson. She grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She married Garth T. Crofts on June 24, 1960, they were later divorced. She married Jay Bateman in August of 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada; he passed away later that year. Lavon then married Cale Cotton on April 19, 1997 in Salt Lake City. LaVon is survived by her husband Cale L. Cotten of Salt Lake City; her children: Kreg and Cynthia Crofts of Kamas; Kaelynn and Scott Pryor of Salt Lake City; her siblings: Florence Savage of California; Carlye and Claudette Brown of Central; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 1 granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11 A.M. in the Millcreek 9th Ward Chapel, located at 4220 South Jeannine (420 E), in Salt Lake City, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday evening from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 4 P.M. Wednesday in the Richfield City Cemetery, in Richfield, Utah. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
