Layton F. Brunson

Aurora/Orangeville, Utah - Layton Earl Brunson, age 83, of Aurora, died August 19, 2006 in Gunnison, Utah. He was born April 5, 1923 in Fillmore, Utah, a son of Francis Marion and Melva Wilson Brunson. He married Margie Cox, July 1950 in Ely, Nevada. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Coast Guard. Layton was a precision machinist, making parts for air planes. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he enjoyed teaching Primary. Layton and Margie were foster parents. Layton enjoyed recording records on to reel to reel players. He is survived by his wife of Aurora; children: Ilene Knudson and Nathan Brunson, both of Aurora; Christine Tucker of Anaheim, California; Lorena and Robert Cantillo of Riverside, CA; brothers and sisters: Dale and Fran Brunson of Fillmore; Lance and Louise Brunson of Spanish Fork; Louise Johnson fo Oak City; Melba Knighton of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynett Houston; a son, Lee Brunson; his parents, Marion and Melva Brunson; his brothers and sister: Francis Brunson, Elwin Brunson and Ida Fillmore. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Aurora, Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial with military honors will be Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. in the Orangeville Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
