Lee A. Duncan

December 25, 1945 — May 22, 2008

Loa, Utah - Our beloved father and grandfather, Lee Amos Duncan, age 62, died May 22, 2008 at his home in Loa. He was born December 25, 1945 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest and only son born to Amos Chapman and Hulda Albrecht Duncan. He graduated from Kearny High School, Class of 1964. He joined the army, where he was a Sargent and served in Viet Nam as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division and was awarded two Bronze Stars and an Army Commendation Medal. He married Lorraine Chappell, June 24, 1970 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. Dad is an avid hunter, fisherman, expert camper and an excellent cook. He was fearless at four wheeling in his truck. He took his children on rides that were not for the faint at heart! Dad didn’t like the cold and wouldn’t go out if it was too cold. Dad loved his children and adored his grandchildren and he did his best to make them smile. They brought him great joy. He is survived by his children: Amy and Kenneth Ekins and their kids: Brianna and Macen of Enoch, Utah; Holly Duncan and her daughter, MaKinleigh, of Salt Lake City; Kimberlee and Benjamin Neff and their kids: Zachary, Samuel, Hannah and Rylan; Kassidee and Josh Brown, all of Loa; Darci and Cole Elmer and their son, Jaxon, of Bicknell; Kevin Lee Duncan of Lyman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Hulda Duncan; three sisters: Uarda and Clark Day, VeOla and Orin Taylor, Edra and Max Muir and his former wife, Lorraine Chappell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning at the Stake Center in Loa, from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Fremont Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
