Lee Skinner

April 17, 1948 — August 2, 2024

Leland (Lee) Robert Skinner, age 76 passed away August 2, 2024, at his home in Richfield, following a valiant battle with a rare form of cancer caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Viet Nam. Lee served with distinction during his 7 years in the U.S. Navy.


He was born April 17, 1948, a son of Elton Robert and Shirley Morris Skinner, in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he grew up and graduated from Valley High School. He then attended and graduated from BYU in Provo with a Business Administration degree and went to work with K-Mart for 13 years. He then went to work with the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years working as a clerk, a carrier, and a Postmaster in Bicknell and Elsinore.


Lee married the love of his life, Marilyn Lee McNinch April 18, 1973, in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union were born four handsome sons: Matthew, Bradlee, Brenton and Aaron.


Over the years Lee was active in several service organizations, including the United Way. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several Bishoprics and Stake Presidencies.


Lee enjoyed traveling, especially with family. He also loved gardening in his backyard. He befriended everyone he met.


Lee is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lee Skinner of Richfield; and their four beloved sons and their beautiful wives: Matthew and Penny Skinner of Tomball, Texas; Bradlee and Melissa Skinner of Green River, Wyoming; Brenton and Diana Skinner of St. George, Utah; Aaron Skinner and Amber Southern of Salt Lake Cit, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Janice Caudill of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ricky Chadwell of Florida; and Lori Speelman of Idaho.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Shirley Skinner; his brother-in-law: Mac Caudill; and a sister, Jeannie Dubois.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West in Richfield

Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the United States Navy Honor Guard will be private under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
