Venice, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, LeeAnn Newby Payne, age 58, passed peacefully on December 29, 2015 in Richfield, after a very short battle with cancer. She was born January 21, 1957 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Calvin V. and Ruth Shirley Tripp Newby. She graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1975. She married the love of her life, Claude R. Payne, July 2, 1977 in Monroe, Utah. LeeAnn was a member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed riding horses, fishing, pitching horse shoes in competition, riding 4-wheelers in the mountains, camping at Maple Grove, collecting dolphins and was very creative in tatting. Many beautiful items that she made were given to family and friends. She also enjoyed arranging flowers. LeeAnn is survived by her husband, Claude, of Venice; a daughter: Klerisa and Tony McFarlain of Richfield; four grandchildren: Michael Moore of Salina; Kaylynn Moore, Sandra LeeAnn McFarlain and Sophia McFarlain, all of Richfield; several sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Mitchell Newby. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Venice LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Venice, Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
