Lefty Peterson

Lefty Peterson Salina, Utah - Eugene Milton “Lefty” Peterson, age 46, of Salina, died September 5, 2004 in Richfield, Utah, after a brief illness. He was born June 27, 1958 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Milton Alonzo and Leora Simpson Peterson. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1976. He married Cynthia Jo Lowry, November 27, 1976 in Salina, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Sherry McIntosh, November 15, 1980 in Gunnison, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Melanie Daniels in Las Vegas, Nevada and they were later divorced. Lefty worked as a coal miner for Consolidated Coal. He was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He could build or fix anything he set his mind to. Lefty enjoyed helping others and riding his four-wheeler. Lefty is survived by his three children: Shashone Peterson of Richfield; Melissa Peterson and Clinton Eugene Peterson, both of Salina; a grandson, Gaige Jarred Johnson of Richfield; his mother and step-father, Leora and Cecil Sorenson of Aurora; two sisters: SusAnn and Chad Beach, Loretta Quarnberg, all of Salina; nine nieces and nephews; and his most loved companion, his dog, Cuddles. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton A. “Lefty” Peterson; a sister and her husband, Gay and Paul B. Ivie. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street, in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the Stake Center Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
