Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Lela Williams Workman, age 74, of Gunnison, died March 1, 2009 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born July 25, 1934 in Youngsville, New Mexico, a daughter of Benjamin and Iginia Martinez Williams. Lela enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, planting things and hunting. She was a very handy person, and enjoyed remodeling her home. She loved to cook and sew. She was a beautician in Gunnison and did hair for many women in the area. Lela is survived by her children: Garry and Glenda Lund, Mike and Candi Johnson, Robin Johnson, Kevin and Brickell Johnson, Mark and Alesha Johnson, all of Salina; Phillip Workman of Gunnison; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Chon Kandaris of Price and Fred Williams of Riverton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Max Williams; a sister, Viola Sorenson; and a grandson, Jerod Lund. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 12 Noon in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 810 North Highway 118 in Central Valley, where friends may call for viewing Thursday morning one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
