Lell Heaps

August 3, 1931 — July 26, 2005

St. George/Teasdale, Utah - William Lell Heaps, beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2005 after a valiant battle with cancer and complications of diabetes. He was born August 3, 1931 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of Lorenzo and Wanda Fern Chidester Heaps. He married his Sweetheart, Ann Maxfield on June 5, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple, sealed for time and all eternity. Together they raised a family in righteousness and love. Lell was a dedicated servant of our Father in Heaven throughout his life and served as Ward Clerk for four Bishops. He was a renowned musician. As a member of the Poverty Bench Boys, he used his beautiful singing voice to entertain, enrich and heal the lives of those who heard him. He was a skilled carpenter. His fireplace mantles grace homes from California to Washington DC. He served the Lord on building missions throughout the Western U.S. as well as Hawaii and Michigan. Lell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Heaps, of St. George; seven children: Tim Heaps of Agoura Hills, CA; Cynthia and Al Medina of Chatsworth, CA; Beverly and Bryant Davis of Albuquerque, NM; Karen and Paul Cloward of Herriman, UT; LaWanda Davis of Riverton, UT; Bryan and Raven Heaps; Loralee and Forrest Christian of Helena, MT; and 15 grandchildren; all who will remember him with love, gratitude and joy for the life that he so richly lived. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Heideman Mortuary, 170 South Mall Drive in St. George, Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 P.M. and at the Stake Center in Loa, Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
