Redmond, Utah - Leo Roger Hingley, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Redmond, Utah on December 9, 2008. He was born, August 10, 1936 in Long Beach, California, a son of Leo Walter and Sheila Malcolm Wills Hingley. He graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach and then served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. He returned from the service to marry and raise a family. He worked in the oilfields until 1960 when he joined the Ironworkers Local 416 in Los Angeles. He retired in 1990 and moved to Redmond. An avid outdoorsman, our Dad, Leo “Roger”, loved hunting, fishing, tinkering, gunsmithing and related pursuits. He loved his home, his family, his dogs and his many close friends. Always willing to help others, he touched many lives. He was an active member of the NRA and the American Legion. He will be remembered for his BIG voice, his generosity and his fun-loving sense of humor. “Semper Fi”. He is survived by his son, Bob (Cathy) Hingley of Arizona; daughters: Laura (Rich) Means of Redmond, Janet Hingley of California; grandchildren: Isaac (Ashley) and Adam Hingley, Matt Means, Sarah Means, Dylan Morgan; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Ethan and Orion; brothers and sister: Duke Hingley, Tom Hingley and Stacey Morgan. At his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the NRA or the Redmond American Legion Post #118, in memory of Leo Roger Hingley.
