Leo Shaw

September 2, 1916 — August 30, 2006

Aurora, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather and brother, William Leo Shaw, age 89, died August 30, 2006 in Gunnison, Utah. He was born September 1, 1916 in Aurora, Utah, a son of William Hartley and Mary Harding Shaw. He married Genevieve “Gena” Higgins, June 8, 9142 in Monroe, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died November 24, 1996. Leo was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, wood working, 4-wheeling, spending time with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leo worked at the Clay Plant in Aurora, for Young Construction and also he was a carpenter, building homes in the area. He is survived by his children: Bishop Bill Lee and Kerri Lynn Shaw of Sandy; Sally and Terry Heath of Aurora; Colleen Bertallotte of Detroit, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Deon Taylo, Carol and Arva Shaw, Roa and Wendell Mason, Fonda and Evan Kennedy, all of Aurora; Lois Jones of Salt Lake City; Gail and Mary Shaw of Salina. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Utahna Ainsworth, Etha Hansen and Vern Shaw. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 4, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street, in Salina Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Aurora, Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
