Leween Deaton Allred

July 3, 1929 — May 11, 2022

Salina, Utah – Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother neighbor, and friend, Leween Allred, passed away May 11, 2022, in Santaquin. Leween was born July 3rd, 1929 in Salina, Utah daughter of John W. and Jennette Harding Deaton Salina. She married Burton A. Allred on February 1st. 1957 in Las Vegas Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 29, 1965. He passed away on May 13, 2004. Leween was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served many callings Primary Secretary, Relief Society 2nd counselor in the Salina 1st ward. She also was a visiting teacher for many years, her partner was her sister Wilmoth Nielson. She served faithfully away helping everyone she knew. She worked in her younger years at the Day and Night Café, Salina Drug Store, and worked as a lunch lady at Salina Elementary. Leween enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, she loved summertime working in her vegetable and flower garden and being outside and enjoying her back patio. She was very talented in cake decorating where she made many wedding cakes and birthday cakes. She also made delicious Christmas candy, which she continued to do well into her 90’s. She loved to crochet and embroider, making many pillowcases and crocheted afghans and doilies, and she also enjoyed making many quilts. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. She enjoyed and loved all her grandchildren, Leween is survived by her two children: Susan (Gary) Carlisle of Redmond; Devon (Susan) Allred, of Salina; Sister-in-law, Elaine Deaton; her grandchildren: Daniel (Aleece) Allred of Salina; Alica (Kim) Vest of Cedar City; Landon Boone (Ashley) Allred of Salt Lake; Kasey (Danielle) Bosshardt; Kurt (Sue Ann); Mark (Priscilla) Bosshardt; Charles Bosshardt; Kevin (Chelsi) Bosshardt; Trevor (Kortney) Carlisle; all of Redmond; Tyler Carlisle of Phoenix, Arizona; Jennifer Carlisle of Provo. 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Wilmoth Nielsen and Vivian Mecham; a brother: Joe Deaton; a son-in-law: Larry Bosshardt; Brothers-in-law: Arlon Nielsen and Eldwin Mecham; Brother and Sisters-in-law: Byron & Elaine Allred, Lowell & Carol Lee Allred, Keith & Vanesse Barrett; a granddaughter Theresa Bosshardt. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 12 Noon in the Salina Creek LDS Ward chapel at 87 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel at 150 East Main Street in Salina from 10-11:30 AM prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes or Richfield and Salina, Utah.
