Lexi Maria Nielson

Redmond, Utah – Our kind and beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend, Lexi Maria Nielson, age 16, gained her wings on March 29, 2020 at her home in Redmond. She was born February 11, 2004 in Gunnison, a daughter of Kandice Nielson. Lexi was a Sophomore at North Sevier High School. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lexi loved make-up, baking, shopping, camping and hunting with her family and friends; and fundraising for make a wish foundation. She loved reading and taking care of young children, baking sweet treats, and putting a smile on everyone’s face who encountered her. Lexi is our special angel and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Pope, Dr. Chan and the many nurses and doctors at Primary Children’s Hospital in the Oncology Unit, At Home Health and Hospice, Huntsman Cancer Center, Utah make A Wish Foundation, the Mule Deer Foundation, North Sevier and the surrounding communities for all their love and support. “She believed she could, so she did” Lexi is survived by her mother, Kandice, brothers, Ryan Delgado and Jake Delgado and her grandparents, Jerald and Sandra Nielson, all of Redmond; her boyfriend, Ryker Uptain of Torrey; her great-grandmother, Elizabeth Nielson of Richfield; aunts and uncles: Angie and John Bogh of Mayfield; Kristy and Cory Piep, Jerrilynn and Mark Hansen, all of Redmond; Waylon Nielson of Salina; numerous cousins and the entire Delgado Family. She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Kent Johnson, Gayle Johnson, Rulon Nielson, great-uncle, Marlo Johnson, and two special friends, Terry Lough and D.J. O’Neil. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, anyone wanting to show love and support, please line the road, 100 West in Redmond, on the way to the cemetery, when the family passes by on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 12 Noon. Services under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
