Lila Ball Fleming Gunnison, Utah - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Lila Ruth Gardner Ball Fleming, age 79, passed away June 29, 2004 at her home in Gunnison. She was born December 2, 1924 in Delta, Utah, a daughter of Norman and Verna Schlappi Gardner. She grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School. She met and married her first husband, Paul Enos Ball in Delta while he was serving in the military and they later moved to Gunnison where she spent the rest of her life. They were later divorced. She married Robert “Bob” Fleming on September 25, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lila was a member of the LDS Church. She was active in the Relief Society and enjoyed going visiting teaching. She started working at the Wisteria Café as a waitress in the early 1950's and retired at the age of 78. She was everyone’s favorite “waitress” who came into the café. She always made everyone feel welcome and spent most of her time in the service of others. She was a loving wife and mother who loved to cook, work in her yard, and her family and friends were recipients of her handmade crafts. You would never leave her house without tasting some of her home cooking; home made rolls and jelly were a special treat. Lila is survived by her husband, Bob, of Gunnison; four daughters: JoAnn (Eugene) Beck of Richfield; Linda (Al) Vincent of Salt Lake City; Paulette Nardella of Salmon, ID; Shirlene (Ronald) Camp of Enoch; two sons: Kenneth (Stephanie) Ball of Redmond; Ronald (Gayle) Ball of Gunnison; a step-son, Robert Corey Fleming of Ogden; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glen (Connie) Gardner of St. George; a sister, Elaine Robison of Delta.
