Leeds, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lillian Sullivan Stratton, age 95, of Leeds, passed away on September 28, 2004 in St. George, Utah. She was born September 17, 1909 in Leeds, Utah, a daughter of William Duncan and Mary Ann McMullin Sullivan. She was the last child in a family of twelve children. Lillian lived in Leeds for most of her early life, only leaving to attend high school in Hurricane, Kanab and Salt Lake City. She married Andy Voyle (Bill) Stratton of Hurricane, on September 22, 1936 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on March 15, 1947. To this union was born four sons, William Bud, George Mace, Stephen Clark and Lyman Gilbert. Bill died November 21, 1987. Lillian lived her entire married life in Leeds, where she enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held positions of Primary President and Secretary; Relief Society Teacher; working in the Young Women’s Mutual Program and she was a Temple Worker. Her hobbies included reading, writing and genealogy research. She was the Grand Marshal in the Leeds Independence Day Parade July 4, 1997. Lillian is survived by her four sons: William Bud and Penny Stratton of Mesquite, NV; George Mace Stratton of Tacoma, WA; Stephen Clark and Artie Stratton of Las Vegas, NV; Lyman Gilbert and Celest Stratton of Hemet, CA; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; six brothers: William Duncan Jr; Frank, Cleo, Leland, Evan and Dellas Sullivan; and five sisters: Ethel Bastian, Verda Woodbury, Estella Kemp, Erma Sullivan and Mary (Reah) Storm. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Leeds LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Leeds Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
