Linda Gibson

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Linda Elizabeth Miller Gibson, age 67, died January 3, 2011 in Richfield, Utah. She was born April 5, 1943 in LaPorte, Indiana, a daughter of Joda Edwin and Lois Estelle Carden Miller. She married Luther Gibson, November 8, 1975 in Knox, Indiana. He died May 5, 1993. Linda worked as a cook in a restaurant and a waitress in a bar, from the age of 14. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Richfield where she enjoyed helping with vacation Bible School and attending Sunday services. She enjoyed the Potluck get togethers. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center for lunch, playing Bingo and taking the Senior Bus to lunch, to the doctor, to the bank, shopping and other places. She liked being in the Tops Club and meeting new people. She moved to Cedar Canyon Apartments and loved living there and getting acquainted with the other residents. Linda liked playing Bingo, writing letters and cards to her family and friends; going to Las Vegas to see the different casinos and to gamble; going to yard sales; doing crossword puzzles; going to the swimming pool to exercise and swim and going to the Fitness Spa; talking with her family and friends in Indiana and attending her church services. She was especially excited to be able to witness the wedding of her daughter, Pam to Larry Forster, in May of 2008. Linda is survived by her children: Pamela Jean and Larry Forster of Richfield; Kathryn Louise and Brian Shidler of Mish, Indiana; Luther Edwin Gibson of Riverside, California; sister, Susan Estelle and Don Taylor of Yucaipa, California; James Alan and Jan Miller of Argos, Indiana; 4 grandchildren: Nicole Phillips, Jennifer Phillips, Stacy Pendergraft and Tony Shidler; 2 great-grandchildren: Kassandra Smith and Starlakay Marie Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lois and Joda Miller; her husband, Luther Gibson; two sisters: Norma Jean Miller and Beverly Garza Pena; a brother, Edward Eugene Miller and a niece, Cyndi Murpy. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Assembly of God Church, 110 North 300 East in Richfield. Additional funeral services will be held in Nausbaum-Elkins Funeral Home Chapel in Walkerton, Indiana and burial will take place in the Patten Cemetery in LaPorte, Indiana.
