Liz Jeffs

Bicknell, Utah - Elizabeth Catherine “Liz” Fox Jeffs, age 90, of Donaldson, Indiana and formerly of Bicknell, Utah, died January 15, 2006 at the Ironwood Health Care Center in South Bend, Indiana of causes incident to age. She was born September 1, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Louis and Anna Mueller Fox. She married Owen Leo Jeffs, May 5, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Owen died September 6, 2001. After her marriage to Owen in 1959, they lived in Caineville, Lyman and finally settled in Bicknell, where Owen worked as an electrician and Liz worked for the school district. Liz was a very active member of the Catholic Church and was instrumental in getting the new church, St. Anthony of the Desert Catholic Church, built in Torrey. Liz worked for the Wayne Middle School for 10 years, as a secretary. After Owen’s death in 2001, Liz moved back east to be closer to her family. She packed her bags and never looked back and spent her remaining years in Indiana. She is survived by a brother: Daniel L. Fox of Beach Grove, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Fox. Memorial services and mass will be held at St. Anthony of the Desert Catholic Church, 585 North 500 West, in Torrey, Utah at a later date. At her request, her remains have been cremated and burial will take place in the Bicknell Cemetery in Bicknell, Utah under the care and direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
