Lloyd Dale Stitt

Salina, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Lloyd Dale Stitt, age 68 of Salina, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his family on Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Salina. Lloyd was born on January 9, 1951 in Paonia, Colorado, a son of John Armour and Della Wriston Stitt. He graduated from Paonia High School Class of 1968. He also graduated from the Auto body Program at Sevier Valley Technical College. He married Mai Thi Nguyen on December 31, 1975 in Lander, Wyoming. Lloyd was a veteran having served in the United States Navy as a Gunner. Lloyd was a member of the Assembly of God church in Richfield as well as Faith Baptist church in Salina. He was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord, reading his bible, and gospel music. He was a wonderful singer, vocalist, poet, and guitar player who performed at various church services and nursing homes. He loved to listen and play country music and go out two steppin’ with his wife Mai Thi. Lloyd served on the Centerfield City Council as the water clerk for 1 year where he was appointed by the City Council and Mayor Draper. He served as a youth leader for the Royal Rangers. Although he loved his travels throughout the world during his time in the military especially Vietnam, Philippines, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore, he truly loved the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the beautiful great outdoors of Utah. He was a true outdoorsman and a kind hearted good ol’ country boy. He loved camping, fishing, shooting guns, blowing up dynamite, and panning for gold. He is survived by his wife Mai Thi Stitt of Salina; his son Norman Lee Stitt of Salina; his daughters: Marianne Lee Stitt of Salina; Lodi Stitt Legaspi of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandson Dennis Stitt Legaspi of Las Vegas, Nevada; his granddaughters: Jersey Lee Stitt; Jordyn Lee Stitt; Jay Lee Stitt; Desiree Mei Stitt Legaspi; Lorraine Stitt Legaspi all of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brothers: Richard LeRoy Stitt of Seymour, Missouri; Joseph Lee Stitt of Rockvale, Colorado; his sisters: Joen Virginia Maldanado; Helen Faye Taylor both of Rio Dell, California. He is preceded in death by his parents John Armour and Della Wriston Stitt; his brothers: John Junior Stitt; Jimmy Nolan Stitt; Dan Louis Stitt; his sisters: Evelyn Ruth Sandoval; Mary Ellen Gallo; Georgia Marie Brown. Graveside Services with Military Honors provided by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Navy Honor Guard will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday 28, 2019 in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery, Salina, Utah. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
