Loran Bryson Smith

Salina, Utah - Loran Bryson Smith, age 80, passed away on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at his home in Salina. He was born on September 14, 1935 to Loran Asael and Thelma Bryson Smith in Fairview, Wyoming. Loran married Ruth Haynes on December 26, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 29, 1955. He served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He worked as an Air Force Mechanic until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served at the church employment center, as a Sunday School Teacher, and as a Home Teacher. He loved to visit the Temple. Loran enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to camp and fish. He was a very quiet man who could always be depended on. He was trustworthy, so when he said he would do something he did it. He was gentle, loving, and kind to his family, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Ruth H. Smith; his children: LuAnn Kuhn of Stanley, Idaho; Doug Smith of Tooele, Utah; Diane Ouderkink of Charlevoix, Michigan; David Smith of Urbana, Ohio; Charles Smith of Salina, Utah; Sharon Forshee of Riverton, Wyoming; 14 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held Friday October 2, 2015 in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main, Salina. Military honors will be provided by the Salina American Legion Post #36, and the Hill Airforce Base Honor Guard. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, and Salina, Utah.
