Lorie G. Brown

September 25, 1955 — October 22, 2022

Richfield, Utah – Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Lorie Gunnell Brown, age 67, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2022, in Richfield.


Lorie was born September 25, 1955, in Logan, a daughter of Reed Heninger and Lorine LaRene Jaggi Gunnell. She spent a happy childhood and school years in Logan. She met Charles F. Brown while he was attending Utah State University. They were married September 28, 1973, in the Logan LDS Temple, by her grandfather, Joshua Brown Gunnell. Together they raised six children in both Richfield and Willard, Utah making many lifelong friends and wonderful memories in both cities.


She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an unwavering testimony of the Savior and His gospel. She served faithfully in many church callings and especially enjoyed singing in the ward choir. She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and loved His gospel. She taught it to her children and grandchildren by her word and example.


Lorie loved reading, music, spending time outdoors, animals, and creating a beautiful yard filled with flowers and bountiful vegetable gardens. She loved spending time with her family and watching them grow and flourish.


Lorie is survived by her beloved husband, Charles “Charlie” Brown, of Richfield; her children: Travis (Wendy) Brown, Joshua (Sherrie) Brown, Nicholas (Trisha) Brown, Jaquel (Brandon) Reeder, Heather (Spencer) Gay; 19 grandchildren; her siblings: Bruce (Casey) Gunnell, Carey (Kris) Gunnell, Lois (Bob) Summers, and Randi Carter.


She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Gunnell and her youngest son, Tysen Harold Brown.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00A.M. in the Richfield 16th LDS Ward Chapel, 805 North 500 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center in Richfield, Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services.


Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
