Lorna Parry Johnson

Sigurd, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Lorna Jean Parry Johnson, age 72, passed away April 12, 2011 at her home in Sigurd, surrounded by her family and friends, after a short battle with cancer. She was born June 28, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Edward L. and Winona Parker Parry. She married Melvin V. Johnson, May 26, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. Lorna enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, camping and fishing. She is survived by her husband of Sigurd; children: Don M. And Jolyn Johnson of Sandy; Bruce L. Johnson of Tooele and his ex-wife, Kathy R. Of Tooele; Lynn and Troy D. Solomon of Chester and her ex-husband, Dave Shaw of Spring City; Brenda and Bobbie Bond of Monroe; Deloy R. And Demi Johnson of Riverton; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson due in April; brother and sisters: Jim Peterson of Salt Lake City; Carolyn Ortega, Linda and Gary Blue, all of Fruitland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward L. Parry and Winona Parry; and a brother, David Parry. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Wallentine and Pat and Shana Lee with Gunnison Hospice, and a special “Thank You” to Jayme Rigler, for his wonderful care of our dear wife, mother and grandmother. Grave side services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road in Salt Lake City. Friends may call for viewing at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, Saturday morning one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
