Monroe, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Lucinda Patterson Coleman, age 83, passed away June 2, 2010 in Richfield, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born, Nancy Louisa Lucinda Higgins, a daughter of George Washington and Zina Lucretra Robison Higgins, July 22, 1926 in Fillmore, Utah. She grew up in Richfield, where she met and married Richard Bevard in 1942 and they later divorced. She married Floran Horace Patterson, June 6, 1946 in Pioche, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple in 1957. He died April 3, 1992. She then married Gordon S. Coleman of Marysvale, Utah, October 30, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lucinda was a caring and loving home maker, that went out of her way to help those in need. She spent the most part of her life in Beaver, while her children were raised. She worked in several different jobs to provide aid in support of her family. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Scouting program and the Primary. Lucinda was an expert seamstress and made clothes and many beautiful things for her family and friends. She later moved to LaVerkin for a short time and then to Paragonah before finally moving to Monroe. Lucinda is survived by her husband, Gordon, of Monroe; her children: Florene Barton of Paragonah; Gwen and Dennis Mertlich of LaVerkin; Wayne Patterson; step-children: Brenda Moosman of Richfield; Lynn and Cassandra Coleman of Scottsdale, Arizona; Christopher and Stacey Coleman of Moore Park, California; Scott and Brenda Coleman of Marysvale; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband; two children; four brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her family. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe 5th LDS Ward Chapel, 110 South Main Street in Monroe, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial will be Monday afternoon at 3:00 P.M in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
