Richfield, Utah - Sarah LuDean Jackson Teeples, our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on September 4, 2020. She was born June 9, 1931 in Loa, Utah to William Thomas and Mary Jane Jackson. She was the second youngest of nine children in a close, loving family and was the last to finally return to her heavenly home. She married her high school sweetheart, Leland Taft Teeples, on May 16, 1949 in the Manti Temple just one week after their high school graduation. Together they raised seven children. With Leland in military service and later as a career education administrator, they had the opportunity to live in Paris, France for 2 years with their 3 oldest children and in Saudi Arabia for 4 years with their 2 youngest. She lived an exemplary life and remained a devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings throughout her life and was constantly in the service of others. In their later years she and Leland were able to serve three missions together leaving an example for her children and grandchildren to follow. She loved her children and grandchildren immensely and was overjoyed when she received visitors. She loved to serve them and others in any way possible. She loved music and playing her organ. She was a fantastic cook and was quick to prepare a meal for anyone who visited her and would never let one leave her house hungry. Over the years she became known for her Navajo tacos (a recipe given by her sister Mary Ellen). She was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to crochet blankets and make quilts for her children and grandchildren. Her eternal sweetheart preceded her in death in 2009, and after having spent sixty years together we can only imagine the tender reunion they are having. She is survived by her 7 children Valdon Teeples (Tess), Sheldon Teeples (Michelle), Annette Cutler (Doyle), LaPreal Hansen (Larry), Beverly Farnsworth (Rick), Jeff Teeples (Shelly), and David Teeples (Heidi); along with 55 grandchildren, 120 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings. The perfect mother and grandmother, she left a legacy of kindness, love, and service. She will be so very missed. She genuinely believed that “Families Can Be Together Forever”. Until we meet again. Private family funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel. Live streaming will be available to view on LuDean’s obituary page. Friends, and their masks, are invited to a public viewing Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
