Lula D. Anderson

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lula D. King Anderson, age 88, died February 7, 2005 in Richfield, Utah. She was born May 13, 1916 in Maryvale, Utah, a daughter of William Laffette (Lafe) and Eliza Blanche (Leah) Bleak King. She graduated from Marysvale High School, Class of 1933. She attended Utah State University. Lula married Lynford James Anderson, June 6, 1936 in Marysvale, Utah. He died December 6, 1985. She married Welden R. Simkins, April 2, 1987 in St. George, Utah. He died December 27, 1997. Lula was a member of the LDS Church where she taught MIA. She was active in the Republican Party, the Salina Garden Club and the JC Ettes. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and creek fishing. Lula is survived by her son, King and his wife, Mary Ellen Anderson of Salina; two grandsons, Rustin K. Anderson, Bruce L. and Wendy Anderson, all of Salina; a great-grandson, Ethan Anderson, and a sister-in-law: Venice King of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carrol King, and both husbands. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
