Luzon Nebeker

September 25, 1919 — February 28, 2011

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Carrie Luzon Shaw Nebeker died at her home in Richfield on Monday, February 28, 2011, at age 91. She was born September 25, 1919 in Venice, Utah to parents Thomas Quick and Carrie Helena Shaw. Luzon graduated from Richfield High School in 1937. Soon after high school she married DeMar Nebeker on August 14, 1938 in Richfield. Luzon worked in housekeeping at the Sevier Valley Hospital for many years. She was an active member of the LDS church where she held various callings, but she enjoyed serving in the Primary the most. She enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially loved to visit Fish Lake. Luzon had a wonderful sense of feisty humor that will be missed dearly by friends and family. She is survived by her son Evan and LouAnne Nebeker of Starkville, Mississippi; daughter-in-law Loa Nebeker of Rigby, Idaho; grandson Gary Nebeker of Brigham City, Utah; her granddaughters: Christine and Rob Mortimer of Mukwanago, Wisconsin; Tami Nebeker of Huntsville, Alabama; Lisa and Keith Gillis of Knoxville, Tennessee; Carrie and Eric Stevens of Tuscumbia, Alabama; great-grandchildren: Catherine, Tina, Melissa, and Ryan Mortimer; Kirtland, Ben, Mason, and Maya Stevens; and Kayla Gillis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; her son Ron Nebeker; her sisters: Thelma Buchanan; Carma Heppler; Irene Cowley; Jane Hone; Viola Shaw; her brother Doyle Shaw. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
