Mable C. Crane

April 1, 1913 — July 2, 2005

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mable Christensen Crane, age 92, died July 2, 2005 in Richfield, Utah. She was born April 1, 1913 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Alvin James and Ora Almeda Nielsen Christensen. She married Leland Smith Crane, May 14, 1934 in Manti, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, January 18, 1954. He died March 4, 1972. Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving in the Relief Society and other organizations of the church. The highlight of her service was her mission in 1979 to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She also worked in the Manti and St. George Temples as an ordinance worker. Mama was always helping friends and neighbors by sharing her freshly baked bread and goodies. She made many beautiful quilts and afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mable is survived by her children: Norma (Don) Holt, St. George; Carol (Terry) Ashman, Layton; Leland Stanford Crane, deceased; DeAnne (Eugene) Tidlund, Salina; Linda (Robert) Anderson, Payson; Dennis (Fay Loy) Crane, Monticello; Joyce, deceased (Garth) Ruff, Salt Lake City; 33 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Howard Ned Christensen, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 4 brothers, son-in-law: Steve Westbrook; 4grandsons, Gary Westbrook; Donald Davis Holt, Jr.; Jody C. Anderson; Steven Ruff; and 1 great-granddaughter, Angela Anderson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Val Chartier, LaNeeta Sudweeks, Doreen Nielson, Dr. Blackham and all the other care givers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the Stake Center on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
