Madge P. Taylor

July 10, 1920 — September 21, 2009

Loa, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Madge Pace Taylor, age 89, died September 21, 2009 in Loa. She was born July 10, 1920 in Loa, a daughter of Barlow Wilford and Maud Davis Pace. She married LaVern “Vern” Ray Taylor, August 25, 1939 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, December 21, 1951. He died June 23, 1982. Madge was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving in the MIA as a Young Women’s Leader and in the Stake Young Womens. She loved to take the girls to Girl’s Camp. She was a Visiting Teacher and she served a Mission in Ventura, California. She loved to go to the Temple. She worked for years in the Stake Genealogical Library. Madge and Vern lived in Beaver, Utah from 1952 to 1959 where they were active in church and civic activities. Then they moved back to Loa in 1959. Madge and Vern were members of the Wayne Riding Club and they loved to square dance. Madge was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Mauna Loa. Madge liked to be in the mountains and go camping. She loved gardening, quilting and cameo painting. She made many beautiful projects. She also loved to read and especially spend time with her family and friends. Madge is survived by her three children: Roger George and Marie C. Taylor of Aurora; Ellis Ray and Vickie Taylor of Mesa, Arizona; Nyra T. And Steve Benson of Cedar City; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Barlow and Millie Pace of Loa; Imogene and Dennis Dalley of Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Martha Mae and Neldon Ellett. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Loa LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
