On July11, 2009, at the age of 96, our kind and beloved mother and grandmother, Margaret Johanna Breese, went to be with her Lord, and her husband of 73 years, Donald Breese. Margaret celebrated her 96th birthday on July 10, 2009. She was born in White River, South Dakota, the oldest of nine children to Peter and Katherine Petersen. She married Donald Delos Breese on November 13, 1934, in Papillion, Nebraska. They moved to California in 1959. Margaret worked for J.C.Penney’s over 20 years, and owned a yardage store in California. Don and Margaret moved from California to Richfield in 1991. Margaret came out of retirement and was a greeter at Kmart for several years. She retired again, and spent her time working in her yard, writing letters, sewing, knitting and crocheting doilies and afghans, for family and friends. Margaret was still knitting until a month prior to her death. She was raised Lutheran, and attended Good Shepard Lutheran Church. In the resent years, Margaret and Don joined Valley Community Presbyterian Church, quickly making many friends. Margaret is survived by her daughters; Kathy Marticorena of Monroe, Phyllis Vandette, Oak Hills, CA; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, seven brothers and sisters. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald T Breese; sister Ruth Falksen, and several brothers and sister-in-laws, and two nephews. With Margaret at the time of her death, were her daughter Kathy, and her granddaughter Renae, of California. At her request, Margaret’s body has been donated to the University of Utah Body Donor Program, to help medical students and further medical research. A Celebration of Life will be held July 20, 2009, at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 1270 West 1800 South, Richfield, at 10:30. Visitation begins at 9:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Community Presbyterian Church Building Fund, POB 818, Richfield, Utah 84701, or charity of choice. Please join the family for refreshments after the Celebration Of Life Service, at the Valley Community Presbyterian Church, 34 East 200 South, Richfield. Margaret’s family would like to thank, the staff at the Beehive House, Richfield, for their loving care, the love and support from Margaret’s friends, and special friends, Linda Anton and Nancy Jerome.
