Salina, Utah - Margie Williams Bird, wife of former Winnipeg Canada Mission President and coach Hugh V Bird, died peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 95, December 27, 2016, at her daughters home in Orem surrounded by family. Margie was born in Central Valley, Utah, February 26, 1921 to Lyman and Lucille Williams and grew up in the orange groves of Lindsay, California until she was 15 when they moved back to Central Valley. She graduated from South Sevier High School and moved to Salt Lake to attend cosmetology school. Margie and Hugh married on July 25, 1939 and enjoyed over 60 years raising their three children in Salina. She had a beauty shop in their home and she enjoyed quilting and crocheting in her later years, gifting over 87 quilts to grandchildren . She loved to cook and is a master of her Hot Rolls, serving countless Athletic Dinners to families and athletes and missionaries. She is a dedicated wife, friend, mother and grandmother. She is loved by all those who knew her. She is survived by her three children, Sherrie (Larry) Silcox of Tooele; Sue (Jerry) Frame of Orem; Dennis and Merrily Bird of South Jordan; 16 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; siblings: Thad R. Williams, Max G. Williams and Janet Jones. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
