Marianne Brown

February 17, 1961 — November 7, 2020

Redmond, Utah – Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marianne Jorgensen Brown, age 59 of Redmond, passed away November 7, 2020 in Gunnison. She was born February 17, 1961 in Bakersfield, California, a daughter of John Richard and Nadine Nelson Jorgensen. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1979 and then went to the Sevier Valley Tech and got her Cosmetology License. Marianne married her sweetheart, Stanley C. Brown from Sigurd, July 14, 1986 in Redmond. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she helped in the Scouting program. Marianne was well known as an amazing cook. She cooked at Mom’s Café in Salina and at the Salina Senior Citizen Center for many years. She gained her extra set of wings in heaven. Those of us who knew and loved her knew she had an extra set in her pocket because she was an angel here on earth. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Stan Brown of Redmond; a son, Burke K. Brown of Redmond; a step-son, Stanley C. Brown Jr. of Salina; a granddaughter, McKenna Brown of West Valley City; a sister, Cynthia Miller of Long Beach, California; a step-sister, DeEtte Thomas of Aurora; a step-brother, Kenny Shaw of Richfield; her mother-in-law, Camilla Brown of Sigurd; 2 nieces, Jamie Helquist of Spring Hill, Tennessee and Naquel Kelly Wilson of Pleasant Grove, Utah. She is preceded in death by her father, John Richard Jorgensen; her mother and step-father, Nadine Nelson and Kendall Shaw; a sister, Laura Mayfield; a nephew, Andrew Mayfield; and her father-in-law, Clinton Brown. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12 Noon in the Redmond Cemetery. In keeping with Utah State COVID-19 mandate, all attendees will be required to wear a mask and obey social distancing. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
