Marie C. Bird

Centerfield, Utah - Marie Cottle Bird, age 80, passed away March 19, 2019 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born September 25, 1938 in Fairview, Idaho, the oldest of five daughters born to Rex A. and June Susanne Bingham Cottle. She married Gary J. Wanner June 3, 1955 in Lewingston, Utah. They were later divorced. She married Myron J. Bird in 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later divorced. Marie was in the service industry for many years and had a way of bringing joy to all she served. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her younger years, she was involved in the Primary Program, served as Church Librarian and worked in the Scouting program. Marie was a very classy, well dressed person. She was an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed nice things. She loved to watch her son's in all their activities. Her hobbies were her grandchildren. She had a special bond with her granddaughter Jamie. Jamie had a special place in the Grandma's heart. She was Grandma's best friend. And like all her grandkids, she loved her dearly. Marie's joys in life were her four sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all. May she rest in peace, free from pain and worry. Marie is survived by her children: Alan and Nancy Wanner of Ogden; Mike and RaeDene Wanner, Todd and Chris Bird, all of Centerfield; Jack and Karen Bird of West Valley City; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Gwen Cantell of Smithfield; Sandra Alder of Logan; Tamera Gerome of Salt Lake City and Susanne Palmer of Brigham City. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and June Cottle; and a grandson, Bret Alan Wanner. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the nurses and doctors at the Mission at Community Care Center in Centerfield for taking such great care of our loved one over the past 10 years. You all are truly blessings in our lives. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12 Noon in the Centerfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
