Circleville, Utah - In the early hours of February 22, 2022 Our precious mother Ellen Marie Jensen returned back to the waiting arms of her beloved husband and her very anxious daughters Janice and Shana. Heaven has defiantly gained the sweetest lady who showed all who ever associated with her what having fun and loving was truly about. Marie was born on March 5, 1938 to Arlo Edgar “Bill” and Eventa Marguerite Hansen Fullmer in Circleville Utah. She was the youngest of two brothers and one sister. Marie was famous for keeping her mother on her toes, from climbing trees to swimming in the ditch with a dress her mother had just made for her, to snooping to find the fresh homemade cinnamon rolls. While in High School Marie enjoyed being a Chieftain where she was known for how well she could cheer, dance and twirl the baton. She loved to go to Purple Haze Dance Hall in Kingston Canyon and “jitter bug” as she would call it. This is where she met a handsome young guy by the name of Glade. Together the two of them enjoyed spending time together and after Marie had graduated high school and spent some time in college, Glade asked her to marry him. On September 18, 1958 Marie and Glade were married in the Salt Lake City Temple for all time and eternity. The couple had plans to move around while Glade worked construction but on June 24, 1959 they welcomed their first daughter into their family. Mom would shyly admit that yes, Janice was indeed a honeymoon baby. Mom was a loving and devoted mother and so while Dad worked hard she was able to stay home and raise her 5 beautiful children. In 1985 when her last baby was in 2nd grade, she started to be a substitute teacher for Circleville Elementary. After a few years of being around all the kids she loved it so much that she applied to be a preschool teacher there. Mom absolutely loved working in the preschool program and made lasting memories with all of her students, even to this day they will call her Mrs. Marie. She was able to work with some amazing ladies in this program, they would all fit into a gray van of the district office’s and head up North to meetings regarding teaching preschool aged children. Mom always would come home and tell the best stories on how much fun they all had. She truly loved working with them all and the kids, I believe her favorite part was also being able to teach her grandkids. Mom was also involved in many church callings, her most rewarding was when she was called as the Circleville 2nd Ward Relief Society President. Mom poured her heart and soul into everything she has ever done in her life. She was known to never relax but to always run around trying to help whoever she could. She loved to keep busy and show people she cared about them. She made the best white fudge and had lots of people always asking her if she would make them some. She and Dad loved being a part of travel trips that a group of them would always plan each summer. One time dad even got her up on a horse and they did a mountain trail ride with a group of friends. Mom was so proud of herself for being able to ride a horse that day and for the pure fact that horses or cows had ever been her favorite, for some reason she was scared of them. Another love Mom had, would be her Bunko group, she loved playing with all her friends and once a year being able to host the party at her house. She would cook and clean the house for days and then kick all of us out while they played, and we were then allowed to return only as the ladies were leaving. She would say “it’s my one time a month and can laugh and be crazy and have fun”. In 2007 Mom’s life slowed down when her and dad faced the fear that no parent ever wants to endure, they had to bury their oldest child. We watched as both Mom and Dad leaned on each and endured such a heart ache. Together they grew closer and stronger and taught us kids the lesson of true love and faith. After Mom retired from teaching preschool she spent her spare time taking care of grandkids and growing closer to her special needs child Shana. They would drive to Panguitch and get a burger at Henery’s or they would end up in Richfield at the Dollar Store and Walmart. Shana and Mom had a different kind of bond that was enjoyable to watch, they loved going to ball games and cheering and sharing a warm churro. After Shana passed away in 2018 Mom was lost and the change in her happen so rapid. She aged right before our eyes and we could see her heart would never be the same. Although our hearts are the ones now in pain, we can’t help but be happy for Mom because she is now with the daughters she incredibly missed and her eternal sweetheart. We miss you mom; life here will never be the same without you but we promise to hold on to the memoires you made with us and it’s never goodbye but we will see you later.
