Marilyn Gardiner Peterson Holm, 76, of Elsinore, Utah, passed away on December 13, 2022 in Monroe Utah surrounded by two of her three daughters and a granddaughter.
Marilyn was born on July 2, 1946 in Panguitch, Utah, to Eugene and Leila McIntosh Gardiner. She married Theodore Peterson Holm on August 31, 1964 in Elsinore, Utah. They later divorced.
She attended Piute County School District schools and graduated from Piute High School where she was active in the band and drill team. Her Piute High school spirit continued throughout her lifetime.
Marilyn worked at Pacific Trails sewing plant, was a school lunch cook for Sevier school district, Personnel Manager for Kmart and clerk for Elsinore Town. She made lifelong friends at each of these jobs. She was known for being kind to others, always having a listening ear. She loved being a mom to her children and a grandma to her grandchildren. She always said that they were her biggest blessings.
Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints. She had many callings in the church throughout her life including librarian, Young Women's presidency and camp director, primary teacher and temple worker. She especially enjoyed teaching the children in primary.
She is survived by her four children: Justin (DeeAnna) Holm of Elsinore, Utah, Kristy (Terral) DeLange of Monroe, Utah, Katie (Ryan) Crosier of Escalante,Utah, Sydney (Logan) Blake of Santa Clara, Utah, her 8 grandchildren, Marshal, Meghan, Maycee DeLange and Jacey (Hunter) Quinney all of Monroe, Utah. Jaxon (Aunika) Crosier of Escalate, Utah and Chapter, Merit and Choice Blake of Santa Clara, Utah and former husband Ted Holm of Elsinore, Utah
She is preceded in death by her baby girl, Hiedy, who she has waited 58 years to hold in her loving arms, her parents, sister Verlin Unthank, brother Freddie Gardiner, in-laws Waldo and Ilean Holm, sister-in-law Annette Kovach, many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles, and great friends.
Graveside services in her honor will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Monroe City Cemetery. Come and enjoy one last Pepsi with Marilyn.
