Marjorie L. Poulson

December 15, 1925 — April 26, 2014

Redmond, Utah - Marjorie Lowry Poulson, 88 of Redmond, Utah, peacefully passed away April 26, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born in Manti, Utah, December 15, 1925 to Lester Jay and Anna Elvera Danielson Lowry. She attended Manti High School and was honored to be crowned the first Miss Manti. She married Willis "Bill" Andrew Poulson, March 25, 1949 in Redmond, Utah. She was later sealed to her husband in the Manti LDS Temple April 24, 1952. He died January 3, 2008. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for the Perfect Pleat Factory. Her daughter remembers the joy she had selling Avon for 25 years as it gave her a chance to meet and interact with many people. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and worked hard to create a beautiful home with lovely flowers in her yard. She and "Bill" enjoyed the association with lots of fun-loving friends. They traveled and celebrated birthdays together regularly. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked for a time at the Manti Temple with her husband. She loved music and taught it to the Primary children for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, David Poulson and Douglas Poulson; and dear husband "Bill" Poulson. She continually expressed her love and appreciation to her daughter, and her family, who she lived with for the past six years in Henderson, Nevada. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya; brother, Dale J. Lowry; and sisters Charlotte Christiansen and Michelle Anderson. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Special Thanks to the St. George Horizon Hospice Specialist and Season's Care Center, including her sister Michelle for the loving care provided to her for the last three weeks as she peacefully said goodbye to family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Redmond 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
