Torrey, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Mark Alan Baysinger, age 66, of Torrey, slipped into eternity on December 8, 2016 in American Fork, Utah, after a brave and valiant battle with cancer. He was born March 27, 1950 in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, a son of Kenneth Eugene and Ruby Lee Sullens Baysinger. He graduated from Eldon High School, Eldon, Missouri, Class of 1968. He married Sandra Surbaugh in 1973 at Lake Of The Ozarks, Missouri. They were later divorced. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Larkin Moss, September 3, 1999 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas. They made their home in Torrey, Utah. He converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Sunday School Presidency in the Torrey Ward. Mark and Mary were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple, October 25, 2013. Mark volunteered and joined the Army and National Guard where he served as Captain and Transportation Management Officer. He received the Army service Ribbon and the Reserve Components Achievement Medal. He left the Army after 10 years of service after studying in detail, the effects of the hydrogen bomb. He attended drafting school at the US Army Defense Mapping School and was a very talented Draftsman. He worked as a Government Surveyor and did mechanical and civil drafting. He was a self employed Free Lance Sign maker where he painted commercial signs and billboards. He also worked at Hendrick Outdoor Advertising in Osage Beach, Missouri where he painted billboards and did studio work. Mark was very involved with the music and art community in Wayne County. He played his acoustic 12 string guitar, was a gifted song writer and singer. He played in various music festivals in Utah and around the country. Mark has played bass guitar and acoustic 12 string guitar with many, many excellent bands, including his family band, since the age of 11. He enjoyed building and fixing bicycles, building cardboard airplanes, fishing, gardening, horseback riding, hiking with his big dog, "Bear", painting and carving signs, writing songs and poetry, but most of all, he loved serving his sweetheart, Mary. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of Torrey; children: Zachary and Samantha Moss of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Matthew and Anne Moss of Payson, Utah; Jennifer and Reza Parsia of Pleasant Grove, Utah; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; his mother, Ruby Lee Sheehan of Joplin, Missouri; siblings: Michael Baysinger of Joplin, Missouri; Howard Baysinger, Ronnie Baysinger, Ronnie Baysinger, Brenda Baysinger and Danny Baysinger, all of Lake of The Ozarks, Missouri. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Utah Honor Guard under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
