Mark Pace

Teasdale, Utah - Our dearly beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, friend, James Mark Pace, passed away unexpectedly December 21, 2009 in Richfield, Utah. Mark was born on October 1, 1949 in Richfield, Utah, a son of Guy Grigg and Barbara Coombs Pace. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1967. He graduated from Utah State University (BS degree) and from the University of California (MS). He was commissioned in June, 1971 and served as an Army Signal Corps officer for 22 years. Mark’s tours of duty included Turkey, Korea, Germany and several U.S. posts. While in the Army, he met and married a fellow officer, Emily Charlotte Adams, November 6, 1976 in Leesville, Louisiana. After retirement in 1993, Mark’s activities included ranching, farming, hunting, fishing, and serving as a volunteer fireman and a water board member in Teasdale, Utah. Mark was a gifted woodworker and built many beautiful pieces of furniture for family members and friends. Mark is survived by his parents, Guy G. and Barbara C. Pace of Teasdale, his wife, Emily Charlotte Adams Pace of Teasdale; three children: John Brick and Katie Pace of Payton, Colorado; Guy W. Pace, Anneli and Jed Williams, all of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren: Cassady, Trevor, Samantha and Leah Kate Pace; and Pace Williams. He leaves behind four siblings: Richard and Rebecca Pace of Teadale; Phillip and Jessie Pace of Torrey; Michelle and Steven Bearnson of Spanish Fork; Douglas and Paulyn Pace of Teasdale. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 10:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Utah Honor Guard and the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Wayne High School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 217, Bicknell, Utah 84715 in memory of Mark Pace.
