Marlin Sorensen Jr.

July 3, 1933 — April 11, 2016

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Marlin Sorensen Jr. age 82, passed away April 11, 2016 in St. George, Utah. He was born July 3, 1933 in Salina, a son of Marlin J. and Nelda Fern Zufelt Sorensen. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1951. He then attended Utah State College and then received his Masters Degree in Accounting from BYU. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Marlin was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many different positions throughout his life. He was a member of the Salina Jaycees, the State of Utah Jaycees and the National Jaycees. He loved to travel, loved golfing and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his children: Jared and April Sorensen of Reno, Nevada; Natalie and Glen Lewis of Aurora; Eric Lucas Sorensen of Burlingame, California; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gwen and Rae Noyes of Salina; Jeanette and Lee Malmgren of Gunnison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Nelda Sorensen; and a brother Barry D. Sorensen. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
