Our Precious Mary Dawn Warner Cuff, age 93, died peacefully in her sleep in Danville, California of natural causes on October 17, 2012. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho, September 11, 1919, the first child of Harold Monroe and Mary Fern Morrison Warner. She was born with the gift of music and as soon as she could read, always had her nose in a book! She created her own major, receiving a BSA from UCLA in Recreational Management, later a Masters in Audio Visual Instruction from Cal State LA. After serving through WWII in the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve as a control tower operator, she married Champ Thompson Cuff of Marysvale, Utah in California and this union was later solemnized in Manti LDS Temple. They raised their four children in sunny southern California. Champ died February 25, 2002. Mary Dawn served as President of the California Utah Women, receiving the Heritage Award in 1999. She was a marvelous pianist, organist, and children’s music leader, serving many years in the LDS Church as Ward and Stake Primary Leader, Ward Organist, and Teacher. She excelled in everything she touched: Girl Scouting, kindergarten teaching, children’s music and dance in public schools, leadership, piano, organ, oil painting and crafting. She is loved, and will be sorely missed!
