Richfield, Utah – Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Mateland D. Nay, age 91, of Richfield, passed away suddenly on May 26, 2021 in Provo, Utah. He was born January 28, 1930 in Circleville, Utah, a son of William Levi and Mary Venna Sherman Nay. He graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1948. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an Engineer. Mateland Married Janice Jensen September 27, 1952 in Sigurd, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Mateland enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and playing blackjack. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice, of Richfield; children: Lesa Nay, Bryan and Tiffany Nay, all of Richfield; Lyle Nay of Parleys Summit, Utah; Kevin and Ginger Nay of Kaysville, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Revo and Ed Moss of Richfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; two children: Kerry W. Nay and Starley Gleave; siblings: Sherman Nay, Clarence Nay, Devon Nay, Leland B. Nay, Arnold Nay and Deward Nay. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sigurd Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the United States Air Force Honor Guard will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
