Matthew M. Larsen

Salina, Utah - Matthew Max Larsen, age 46, of Salina, Utah, was born July 28, 1971 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Max Leroy and Kathryn Johanson Larsen. He attended North Sevier High School and Sevier Valley Trade Tech. Matt married Hope Oryall August 28, 1999 in Salina, Utah. They had two wonderful children, Baylee Dawn and Beau Thunder. Tough as nails as he would describe himself is truly an understatement. After a well fought battle, Matthew passed away June 3, 2018 at his home in Salina, Utah. He lived an amazing life. More than anything he loved his children, family and friends and AC/DC. No stop signs, speed limit, nobody's gonna slow me down. When an AC/DC song is playing, Matt is the first person who comes to mind for most people who know him. He was always smiling and fun to be around. Everybody who knew Matt is blessed to have had the opportunity. Matt is survived by his wife, Hope of Salina; daughter, Baylee Dawn and Josh Carpenter of Spanish Fork; son, Beau Thunder Larsen of Salina; parents, Max and Kathryn Larsen of Salina; sisters, Belinda and Tim Kilduff of Salina, Sherri and Rodney Pettit of Hurricane; grandmother, Lila Johanson of Salina; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Avral Tuft Larsen, grandfather, Ralph A. Johanson; Uncle Steven R. Johanson; Aunt, Ruth J. Griffin; nephew, Dylan River Bosch and his best friend, Robert Hook Hatch. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina Creek LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
